About us
The Australian Airports Association (AAA) is a non-profit organisation that was founded in 1982 in recognition of the real need for one coherent, cohesive, consistent and vital voice for ALL aerodromes and airports throughout Australia.
The AAA which represents the interests of more than 185 airports and aerodromes Australia wide – from the local country community landing strip to major international gateway airports. There are a further 85 corporate members representing aviation stakeholders and organisations providing goods and services to airports.
The charter of the AAA is to facilitate co-operation among all member airports and their many and varied partners in Australian aviation, whilst contributing to an air transport system that is safe, secure, environmentally responsible and efficient for the benefit of all Australians.
The AAA is the leading advocate for appropriate national policy relating to airport activities, to ensure regular transport passengers, freight, and the community enjoy the full benefits of a progressive and sustainable airport industry.
The AAA offers a number of services to its members. These include:
- A unified voice when advocating for the sector to Government and other organisations;
- Advocacy on issues of concern at local and national levels;
- Opportunities to develop professional networks through our Division Meetings, Working Groups and events;
- Communications through our e-alert and website that inform members of the latest industry news;
- Professional development at our National Convention and Technical Workshop; and
- A National Awards program to recognise excellence.
