AAA launches Emergency Management Essentials online course
The Australian Airports Association (AAA) has today launched its new Emergency Management Essentials online course as it continues to expand its education offering to the industry.
AAA Chief Executive Officer Caroline Wilkie said the course was the ideal introduction to emergency management for people working at airports, particularly those working in the regions.
“Effective emergency management is essential for every airport, from remote airstrips to larger regional and metropolitan centres,” Ms Wilkie said.
“Whether you work on the airfield, in the terminal or manage people who do, it’s important to understand the role you play in an emergency.
“This course gives airport staff a good foundation on which to build their emergency management plans and engage with their colleagues on this important issue.”
The course provides an overview of how to develop an emergency response procedure and advice on liaising with response personnel both on and off site in the event of an emergency.
It also outlines the various roles and responsibilities of aerodrome staff to ensure an effective emergency response.
Emergency Management Essentials is one of a suite of online courses providing an easy and cost-effective way for airport staff to stay up-to-date with the latest industry standards.
Ms Wilkie said the online format removed the need for costly travel and time away from work for those located in regional and remote areas.
The interactive and engaging courses meet regulatory requirements and provide easy access at a time and location that suits participants.
The Emergency Management Essentials course is available now and can be completed any time.
