Aerodrome Operations Officer
Lower Eyre Council is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated team player to work within our Airport Team. The position undertakes a variety of maintenance and inspection duties ensuring the safe and efficient operations of Port Lincoln Airport and associated assets.
This role is a contract position generally working a 76-hour, 9 day fortnight, with additional hours required as part of a rotating weekend roster. The main duties of the role are:
- Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the Port Lincoln Aerodrome, and the Cummins and Coffin Bay Authorised Landing Areas, by arranging and undertaking activities including:
- Routine aerodrome maintenance and inspections.
- Assisting the Airport Operations Manager to maintain regulatory and legislative compliance.
- Supervision of aerodrome works.
- Providing a high level of service to internal and external customers.
- Inspecting the airfield to ensure facilities such as the movement area (runways, taxiways, aprons), obstacle limitation surfaces, equipment and/or visual aids and other aerodrome infrastructure is safe for aircraft use.
- Monitoring, maintaining, and reporting on the aerodrome for the safety of all users.

Salary and conditions of employment will be at Grade 5 in accordance with Council’s Enterprise Bargaining Agreement, currently between $78,797 and $80,779 per annum.
