The King Island Airport Manager is responsible all things airport related on King Island, ensuring the smooth operational management of the King Island Airport.
On any given day, the Airport Manager will be supervising the Airport Reporting Officers and ensuring stakeholder engagement with all airport user groups.
They will be developing and managing operational and project budgets, ensuring that Airport Emergency Exercises are conducted as per CASA regulations and timelines, or attending board meetings and providing reports for review.
Safety! Our new Airport Manager will fulfil safety and security responsibilities-including overseeing training of employees and contractors in accordance with Workplace Health and Safety policies, emergency response and other regulatory requirements.

With highly developed project management skills, a proven ability to effectively manage complex programs and strong financial/management accounting and commercial acumen, you have a successful track record at a Senior Management level, particularly within the Airport Reporting or Supervising space.
You have Workplace Health and Safety Management experience and/or qualification and possess the drive to undertake further studies to increase your knowledge and keep up with the changing technology, legislation and trends.
Your proven success as a change agent has been developed through transformational leadership by inspiring direction and purpose. You create and innovate to improve both organisational and departmental performance, and your ability to align the organisational structure to operational imperatives is amazing.
With highly advanced communication skills you easily relate to people at all levels, working collaboratively with General Managers and Executive Leadership Teams, elected members, and internal and external stakeholders.
Your work ethic is strong, and you have an uncompromising commitment to provide excellent customer service across a broad spectrum of service/project delivery areas.
Qualifications/ Position requirements
- Must be eligible for issue and ongoing retention of an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
- Current C Class Drivers Licence.
- Have as a minimum a degree-level qualification in Business/Commerce/Management or other relevant qualifications and experience.
