The Role We're looking for an exceptional airport planner to expand our in-house airport planning and aerodrome safeguarding capability. The full-time role will suit someone who is looking for more independence and autonomy and wants to work with a team of highly-regarded specialists on a variety of challenging aviation issues. About You The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate: - A deep appreciation of the airport planning and aerodrome safeguarding task - Thorough knowledge of Australian aviation and airport operations - An understanding of the importance of safety in design from an aviation perspective - An interest in working on airports ranging from uncertified aeroplane landing areas (ALAs), regional airports (our core business), as well as major capital city and international airports - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Ability to work with others and be a participative and supportive team member - Ability to work with minimal direction, displaying initiative and motivation - High level of time management skills – ensuring that tasks are completed on time and in full detail - An understanding of the benefits of sharing project information and experiences in support of the company marketing plan. The right person would need to be able to work in Australia, and ideally be located in either our Brisbane or Perth office. Flexible working arrangements may be available for the right candidate. Mandatory experience The ideal candidate will have: - 5+ years of planning, drafting or development experience. - Experience working in and around the aviation industry. - Proficiency in using CAD-based design applications to produce high quality plans and drawings. Desirable experience The experiences listed below are desirable, however not a necessity: - Experience planning in an Australian airport/aviation environment - Experience working on airport projects for regional or remote communities - An understanding of Australia’s aviation regulatory framework - Stakeholder engagement experience - Experience working on client projects.
