General Manager

The key responsibilities:

• Management of both North Kimberley Airport (NKA) and Troughton Island aerodromes.
• Lead all NKA teams to ensure clients contractual requirements are met to best practice quality, health & safety and environment industry and company standards.
• Liaise with relevant internal and external stakeholders for existing and future successful contract implementation.
• Stakeholder engagement with State and Federal Governments on a regular basis.
• Provide timely and accurate reports as required by the board of directors for quarterly board meetings.
• Participate in monthly board updates.
• Participate in weekly management meetings to ensure efficient operation of NKA activities are maintained.
• Compliance with statutory licensing and industry practices and standards. This will include but is not limited to CASA, DG Licensing and all quality health safety and environment requirements.
• Monitor expenditure against budget.
• Undertake capital expenditure including sourcing capital items and obtaining the best value for money for the company.
• Ensure that the implementation of the ISO accreditation is maintained, and documentation is regularly updated with legislation changes.
• Provide leadership in all aspects of the business.

Essential Criteria 

• A minimum of five years’ experience with a background in aviation or the ability to acquire the knowledge.
• Understanding of HSE issues associated with remote operations, knowledge of comprehensive HSE systems and processes.
• Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to provide strategic business development and leadership in an oil and gas logistic support or similar environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and strategic team leadership skills.
• Demonstrated small business management including budgeting, cost control etc.
• Ability to deal with conflict in a satisfactory manner to suit a service delivery environment for external and internal clients.
• Ability to deal with confidential matters relating to staff and external contractual matters.
• Hold a current driver’s licence.

Desirable:

• Experience in aerodrome management (including aircraft re-fueling) and remote camp management with extensive knowledge of regulatory requirements associated with the same or similar. Regulatory requirements may include CASA, dangerous goods, health and safety, HACCP, environmental health and the like.
• Demonstrated skills in relevant MS office-based applications including MS Word, Outlook & Excel and ability to learn other applications as required.
• Be willing to undertake further studies or training relating to the position as required.

This is a senior level appointment to act as first position and ambassador to the North Kimberley Airport. Salary will be negotiated with the successful applicant.. A hybrid role based in Perth and travelling to NK airbase on a regular basis. This multi-faceted role will require maintaining and developing current and key relationships for the airport whilst ensuring successful day-to-day operations of the airport as a whole.
