Tablelands Regional Council

Atherton Aerodrome is a sporting and recreational aviation aerodrome. It has a 1160m grassed runway (15-33) 2km from Atherton. Aircraft parking available on grassed parking area.  Located a short distance to Tinaroo Dam and other attractions. It is the gateway to the Atherton Tablelands. Lease areas available for construction of hangers and fuel (Avgas) available.

Toowoomba Regional Council has four aviation facilities

TOOWOOMBA CITY AERODROME (TCA) TCA is located 5 kilometres northwest of the CBD in the suburb of Wilsonton. The aerodrome is home to a number of flying schools, charter and FIFO operators, corporate operators, maintenance providers and private flyers. TCA houses one of the finest collection of warbirds in Australia. Queensland’s busiest Lifeflight base is located at TCA, as is the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services Southwest Queensland Airwing. The Toowoomba City Aerodrome’s landing and parking rates provide a convenient and affordable option for travelers who fly their own aircraft to the region. The aerodrome has approximately 30,000 aircraft movements per year.

MILLMERRAN AERODROME (72km southwest of Toowoomba) YMMN has an unrated runway that is 1231 metres long and 18m wide with a central 10m sealed surface. This facility is only available during daylight hours. Low-flying agricultural aircraft, training flights and corporate aircraft typically operate from the airfield.

PITTSWORTH AERODROME (35km southwest of Toowoomba) YPWH has an unrated airstrip is 880 m long and 18 m wide, with the central 8 m sealed. This facility is only available during daylight hours. Low-flying agricultural aircraft typically operate from the airfield. Low-flying agricultural aircraft, training flights and corporate aircraft typically operate from the airfield.

CROWS NEST EMERGENCY HLS (33km northeast of Toowoomba) The Crows Nest emergency helipad is a concrete helipad approximately 10m x 10m, located in a clear area behind the Crows Nest police station. Access is available from Albert Street or New England Highway. This site is available for day-use (training, etc.). Emergency lighting available

Sunshine Coast Airport Pty Ltd

Sunshine Coast Airport (formerly Maroochydore Airport) (IATA: MCY, ICAO: YBSU) is an Australian airport located at the northern end of the Sunshine Coast and approximately 90 km (56 mi) north of Brisbane, within South East Queensland agglomeration.

It is the principal airport for the Sunshine Coast and is the only airport in the region capable of servicing jet aircraft operations. It is the gateway to holiday destinations such as Noosa, Maroochydore, Mooloolaba, and Caloundra. There are direct daily flights to Sydney and Melbourne. In addition, Air New Zealand serves the city seasonally, with three weekly return flights from Maroochydore to Auckland.

The delivery of the new runway in 2020 and the recently released Master Plan 2040 will provide a great platform for Sunshine Coast Airport’s expansion and development over the next two decades,
