NT Airports CEO Ian Kew recognised for outstanding contribution to the airport industry
NT Airports chief executive officer Ian Kew was presented with the Outstanding Contribution Award at the Australian Airports Association (AAA) 2019 National Airport Industry Awards last night.
AAA Chief Executive Officer Caroline Wilkie congratulated Mr Kew on his significant work supporting the growth of aviation and tourism in the Northern Territory.
Mr Kew has led NT Airports, which operates Darwin, Alice Springs and Tennant Creek airports, for 18 years.
“Ian has led from the front in making sure the airport is at the heart of the community and an active contributor to the economic and cultural success of the Territory,” Ms Wilkie said.
“He has developed a strong sense of partnership between NT Airports and its communities to create new opportunities for the region.
“Ian’s also been an active contributor to the wider airport industry through his work on the AAA Board over a seven-year period.
“We congratulate Ian on his significant contribution to the airport industry, which has delivered real benefits to people living and working in the Northern Territory.”
In addition to his role at NT Airports, Mr Kew was a director on the AAA Board from 2007-2014.
He is currently the chair of both the Darwin Festival and the Darwin Major Business Group. He was also previously on the Board of the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory.
The Outstanding Contribution Award is recognises a significant contribution to the airport industry as a whole.
The National Airport Industry Awards were held at the AAA National Conference on the Gold Coast.
