Queensland airports come together for AAA division meeting
Queensland airport representatives will come together to discuss the latest industry trends at the state’s AAA division meeting today.
AAA Queensland Director Paul Watson said the meeting would see airport operators present on a range of issues as they shared best practice and the latest industry news.
“Today’s meeting provides an opportunity for Queensland airports to come together to discuss the key projects and initiatives we’re working on across the state,” Mr Watson said.
“With new CASA regulations to be implemented this year, this is a good opportunity for airport operators to share their insights on how they’re preparing for this important step for our industry.”
The meeting will include an update on Sunshine Coast Airport’s new runway project, which is due for completion this year.
“Our airports play an essential role in connecting our regions and cities across the state and beyond,” Mr Watson said.
“There are a number of exciting projects underway right across Queensland that are making a real difference to the passenger experience.
“We look forward to discussing how we can continue to build on this good work as we keep improving our offering to our passengers.”
Additional presentations will also be held on emergency management, airfield lighting and development close to airports.
The meeting takes place at Hamilton Island today.
