We are looking for a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our technical services team at the airport. You will work closely with the Technical Team Leading Hand and Head of Electrical to deliver maintenance schedules and ensure works meet customer and regulatory standards.

In this varied role you will:

  • Maintain the technical workshop to high safety and housekeeping standards
  • Provide breakdown support for complex equipment around the Terminal and Airport
  • Assist with special projects and task planning as needed
  • Respond to requests for Airfield lighting and Commercial operations
  • Carry out electrical maintenance, fault finding, and minor installations
  • Use the Computerised Maintenance Management System to record activities
  • Work together with the team to meet on call and rostering duties

To be successful in this safety sensitive aviation role, you will have:

  • Grade NT Electrical Fitter/Mechanic licence
  • Electrical maintenance experience preferably in a commercial/industrial setting
  • Excellent electrical fault-finding capability
  • Airside Driving Licence Category IV
  • Aviation Security Identification Card
  • Ability to work independently and be on call
  • Strong technical skills reading plans and fault finding
  • Good communication skills
  • Flexibility to undertake diverse shifts and some travel
  • Computer literacy
  • Be committed to an on-call rotating roster

It’s desirable for you to have:

  • Previous airport experience
  • Experience with airport systems and equipment
  • EWP licence

Primary Objective

Provide daily support of planned and unscheduled maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • In consultation with the Technical Team Leading Hand deliver maintenance schedules to facilities to meet customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure that maintenance works are carried out in accordance with prescribed safety legislation and work towards improved quality standards.
  • Ensure Technical workshop is maintained at an appropriate level of safety and housekeeping.
  • Provide breakdown support for a diverse range of complex electromechanical equipment around the Terminal and Airport facility to maximize asset availability.
  • Provide general support and assistance for special projects on a day-to-day basis.
  • Provide information to assist in task planning.
  • Work without supervision and carry out tasks in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Respond to requests for Airfield lighting operations.
  • Respond to requests for Commercial operations.
  • Carry out minor installation works.
  • Report on deficiencies and recommend solutions.
  • Electrical maintenance and fault finding.
  • Record maintenance activities through the use of the Computerised Maintenance Management System.
  • Work together with the technical services team to meet all on call and rostering duties.
  • Comply with the ADG DAMP program.
  • This position is a SSAA (Safety Sensitive Aviation Activity).
  • Identify, assess, and manage risk through application of ADG Risk Management Framework.
  • Promote sustainable and safety conscious culture by ensuring environmental and safety risks are identified, assessed, and treated.

Selection Criteria:

Essential

  • A Grade NT Electrical Fitter/Mechanic licence.
  • Electrical maintenance experience preferably within Commercial or Industrial sector.
  • Electrical maintenance fault-finding capability.
  • Current NT driver’s licence.
  • Hold or obtain an Airside Driving Licence Category IV.
  • Eligibility to hold an Aviation Security Identification Card and pass an Australian Federal Police Check.
  • Be available for on call emergency requirements and be part call out roster.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Be able to read complex plans and fault find.
  • Good oral and written communication skill.
  • Willingness to undertake diverse shifts and intrastate travel.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Be available for on-call roster.
