City of Karratha

Karratha Airport (KTA) is the second busiest airport in Western Australia providing the vital air link to the Pilbara region. With multiple daily services to and from Perth, the Karratha Airport accommodates approximately 500,000 passengers annually.

The airport is located 14km (8.7 miles) from Karratha and 9.3km (5.8 miles) from Dampier.

In 2015 the Karratha Airport had a major revamp to redevelop the terminal. The upgrade provides several major changes within the terminal and includes a new cafe, bar, combined arrivals and departures area, new toilet facilities, improved security screening and baggage reclaim.

The terminal was officially opened by Deputy Prime Minister Warren Truss on 25 September 2015.

Future infrastructure projects include baggage handling system upgrades and car park system upgrades.
