The Nhulunbuy Corporation (NCL) is a not-for-profit entity that receives its authority from an agreement with Rio Tinto Alcan Gove to manage the Gove Airport in East Arnhem Land. East Arnhem Land is home to incredibly rich Aboriginal culture and offers its residents the chance to experience one of Australia’s last unspoiled tropical paradises, a pristine coastline unknown to many and rich with biodiversity.

Gove Airport is seeking a professional, positive and engaged individual to join our small Airport team.

The main focus of the Airport Reporting Officer is to contribute to the safe and secure operation of the Airport though inspecting, reporting and monitoring the condition of the airside as well as carrying out the day-to-day maintenance of the Airport grounds and buildings.

This is a role where safety and responsibility is paramount and where multitasking is a must.

You will be part of a team dedicated to the safety and security of the travelling public in a fulfilling and unique working environment.

Untrained applicants considered; full training provided to the right applicant.
Pre-employment medical and a probation period of up to 6-months will apply.

You will work as part of a small team as well as independently and have the ability to manage the day-to-day safety, environment, and security aspects of the Airport in accordance with regulations and ensure Nhulunbuy Corporation Limited (NCL) policies and procedures are implemented and enforced.

You will be required to respond to aerodrome emergencies and have effective communications with all stakeholders.

In an operational capacity, assist with the efficient and compliant operation and maintenance of the airport facilities.

What We Offer You

This is a full time Band 6 position with all EBA conditions.

Subsidised housing and relocation will be considered for the right applicant.

This position is offered as an ongoing permanent position.

You will be required to work a 76 hour fortnight on a work/life balance roster including some weekend/public holiday work and inclusion on the 24/7 On Call roster.
