Position Summary Reporting to the Airport Manager, assist in maintaining infrastructure functionality and security integrity to enable the Airport to meet regulatory obligations, manage risk, and provide a professional transit facility. Provide a high standard of public amenity through performing general maintenance and related works of the Lockhart River Aerodrome infrastructure and perform Airport Reporting Officer duties. Maintaining compliance of the Civil Aviation Safety Regulations to ensure the safety and protection of the airport infrastructure and all airport users. Role Description - Airport Reporting Officer & Operations • Conduct and document scheduled serviceability inspections of the Airport, and aerodrome services, equipment, and infrastructure as per MOS-139. • Monitor, report and assist with the maintenance of buildings, equipment, and grounds. • Maintain and operate various plant, equipment, and tools, in a clean and safe manner. • Maintain all areas of the aerodrome by mowing, weeding, spraying, slashing, fencing, and ensuring drainage systems are maintained. • Refuel and marshal aircraft as required. • Ensure correct aerodrome practices are always exercised • Conduct Passenger Transport services such as ticket sales, check-in’s, baggage, and freight handling. • Provide a high level of customer service to internal and external customers. Role Description - Other Company Operations • Provide support to the Aerodrome Manager, Iron Range Cabins Manager and staff as required. • Provide maintenance, repairs, and installation of infrastructure assets. • Conduct regular hazard identification inspections, and address safety issues to contribute towards safety improvement and practices. • Perform basic workshop maintenance of vehicles, equipment, and plant. • Work well within a team and autonomously. Inclusions: 38/hr week with occasional afterhours. Casual for first 3months, salary offer w’ 5 weeks annual leave thereafter. 1 Return ticket to Cairns Basic 2-bedroom accommodation including electricity, gas, towels, linen, aircon, etc. Please note: Telstra service only. Unfortunately, due to location of accommodation pets aren’t permitted. The successful applicant will possess: • Sound knowledge and understanding of airport operations and procedures. • At least 12 months experience as an ARO • Airport Reporting Officer qualifications (or ability to attain) • CASA Aircraft Radiotelephone Operator Certificate (AROC) of Proficiency (or ability to attain) • A current C class driver’s licence. MR or HR desirable • A National Police Certificate (within the last 6 months) • Must be an Australian Citizen • High level of computer skills and Microsoft Office applications • White card desirable • Senior First Aid (highly desirable) • Ability to work proactively in an outdoors environment in all weather conditions • Positive work ethic with high standards • Understanding and safe operation of hand and power tools The successful applicant must hold or be able to hold an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) and to remain holding an ASIC for the duration of their employment.
