In May 2020, the NSW Government named Williamtown as the location for a new special Activation Precinct. The Astra Aerolab is being developed as a globally significant Defence and Aerospace precinct adjacent to the Airport and RAAF Base Williamtown. It has secured significant investment and support from all levels of government and is set to ultimately deliver 5,500 new jobs and global connectivity, providing access to world-leading education and learning, remarkable spaces and experiences. The Opportunity The role of the Facilities Manager is to manage and coordinate the Newcastle Airport asset maintenance system and manage minor projects for all Newcastle Airport assets and infrastructure including preventative and corrective repairs, and the development of preventative and reactionary maintenance programs. The Facilities Manager reports to the Executive Manager of Operations, and with the support of contractors and other staff will maintain an agreed quality standard of the Airport's assets, infrastructure and equipment. You will assist the Executive Manager of Operations in developing asset rehabilitation plans and the development of the 1, 5 and 20 year CAPEX plans and budgets. You will manage airport utilities services, usage and billing reconciliation and develop and manage the airport facilities maintenance budget. About You High quality candidates will have successfully developed and maintained a strategic asset management system and planned maintenance reporting statistics to assist the business in the management of assets. Keen and willing to grow with the organisation, you will have exceptional communication skills at all levels and strong time management skills to ensure deliverables are met. You are a collaborative team player who naturally enjoys having a deep understanding of the operations of the business to best establish how you can add value to strategic FM initiatives and effective operational WHS activities, whilst managing the overall safety and facilities management of the business. Qualifications and experience Essential ·         Relevant tertiary or trade qualifications ·         Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in facilities maintenance ·         First Response Medical Qualifications ·         Current Driver’s License ·         Demonstrated experience in the delivery and management of an asset management system ·         Strong practical knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) incorporating systems such as, fire, lighting, irrigation and Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) ·         Strong time management skills ·         Demonstrated experience in the preparation of maintenance budgets and works programs ·         Excellent interpersonal and communication skills ·         Good written and verbal communication skills ·         Understanding of risk allocation and the management of Work Health Safety Environment (WHSE) in the workplace ·         Basic understanding of asset management principles ·         Understanding of utilities services, usage management and billing reconciliation ·         Understanding of business sustainability strategies and implementation.
