What you’ll contribute to: An exciting opportunity has recently become available for a strategic and well-connected General Manager of Corporate Relations to lead the Corporate Relations team. Reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer, this role is responsible and accountable for leading the development and implementation of corporate communication strategies designed to protect and enhance QAL’s reputation and brand. Key deliverables associated with this role include negotiating positive political and media outcomes, stakeholder satisfaction and timely delivery of key activities. As a member of the General Management team, this role will also contribute to the development of the strategic direction and corporate effectiveness of Queensland Airports Limited. I first joined QAL as I have always had a desire to work in the aviation sector. Previously working the tourism and education sectors, I was interested to explore the distribution/ network side of travel. I contribute every day through leading the implementation and management of QAL’s brand and marketing strategies, increasing both awareness and customer demand for flights through the QAL airport network. I enjoy building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, from airlines to tourism partners and government representatives, agencies, and internal stakeholders. QAL has a fantastic company culture, with a strong and supportive leadership team. QAL has also provided me with significant growth opportunities and the chance to progress internally while working with the company.” How will you make an impact? The successful candidate will be one who leverages relationships and has a proven track record of the successful formulation of effective communications and strategies in a dynamic, challenging and competitive environment. An influencer of others, you will have a career history with high exposure to government, issues and public affairs management which will have enhanced your understanding of both the political, government, media and community stakeholder environments. As a strong leader you will possess: Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills Proven success as a leader of others In-depth understanding of government relations, media, institutional investors/stakeholders and issues & crisis management Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines whilst maintaining composure Strong customer service focus of self and team that you lead Key deliverables/responsibilities include but are not limited to: Maintaining stakeholder confidence in the reputation of QAL and supporting its business and commercial activities Fostering partnerships with key external stakeholders including all levels of government, corporations, media, industry and community ensuring QAL’s interests are represented and protected Implementing a dynamic government relations strategy across all levels of government Overseeing and leading the community engagement program including the community benefit fund. Leading the proactive management of mass and social media activities to enhance QAL’s reputation, brand image and businesses. This will include oversight of promotion activities, corporate events and sponsorships. What do we offer you?
