What we are looking for:
The role of Senior Airport Operations Officer is to ensure Council’s airports in Hervey Bay and Maryborough remain compliant with aviation security and safety legislation, regulations, standards and guidelines. The successful applicant will be responsible for the drafting, review, updating and implementation of relevant airport documents, practices and procedures, as well as for the provision of high level technical advice to Councillors, management and relevant agencies.
The successful applicant must have had substantial experience overseeing the operations, budgeting and supervision of staff for a Security Controlled Airport and a sound understanding of Civil Aviation Safety Regulations affecting Aerodromes.

What you should have to apply:
- Airport Reporting Officer qualifications
- Air Radio Licence Certificate
- Eligibility for ASIC clearance
- Knowledge of legislation, regulations, standards and guidelines relating to Aerodrome operations
- Proven ability to comprehend, interpret and apply legislation, regulations, standards and guidelines
- Experience in overseeing (WSO) major works in an Airport environment
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated experience in managing staff and contractors
- Outstanding work ethic
- Queensland Class “C” drivers’ licence
What’s nice to have:
- Tertiary qualifications (AQF Level 5 or above) in a relevant discipline
