Warrnambool City Council

Warrnambool City Council, WCC, is the owner/operator of the Warrnambool Regional Airport, which is located in the Moyne Shire Council.

The Airport currently operates as a Registered Airport under the current MOS servicing the South West Region. The Airport has 2 Runways: Runway 13/13 is sealed, 1,372 metres long and 30 metres wide, runway strip 150 metres, each end has RNAV-Z procedures, left hand side PAPI , Pilot Activated Lighting, PAL, Aerodrome Frequency Response Unit, and AFRU.

The Runway lighting is Low Intensity Runway Lighting, LIRL. Runway 04/22 is gravel, 1,069 metres long and 23 metres wide and runway strip of 90 metres.

The Airport is serviced with a 24 hour Terminal Area Forecast, TAF, provided by the Bureau of Meteorology, BOM. This facility is equipped with a Ceilometer and Visibility Meter.

Yarrawonga Aerodrome services the general aviation market with approximate 10,000 movements per annum.

Over 40 hangars are based at the aerodrome including aviation related businesses such as flying schools, ultra light aircraft sales, aviation spare parts & equipment and aircraft maintenance engineering services.

AVGAS fuel available 24/7. Two runways available RWY 01/19 is sealed and equipped with runway lighting RWY 05/23 is an unsealed runway with MTOW of 3,000kg

Council has received funding under the Federal Government’s Regional Airport Fund to upgrade the runway lighting for its sealed runway RWY 01/19. Works scheduled for completion by June 2021.

The airport has a thriving non-aviation commercial centre with a vast array of retail options, including Kingston Central Plaza and the Direct Factory Outlet (DFO) which provide employment for many local residents. Chifley Business Park is an architecturally designed campus style business park located on the north and south eastern precincts featuring modern industrial facilities and commercial office spaces maximising natural light, undercover parking and an onsite child care centre.

Moorabbin Airport Corporation Pty Ltd (MAC) purchased a long term lease on the site from the Commonwealth Government in 1998. MAC is wholly owned by Goodman, a publicly listed integrated commercial and industrial property group that owns, develops and manages real estate including warehouses, large scale logistics facilities, business parks and offices globally.

Major Infrastructure projects proposed over the next five years are major ruwnay lighting upgrade, new hangars, runway reseals ad rotary precinct improvements.
